Our Sunday morning services are rooted in the ancient and Reformation liturgies of the Anglican Church worldwide. Our worship draws from the deep wells of these traditions while also recognizing the presence of the Spirit in contemporary forms of worship.
8 am Book of Common Prayer (BCP) Eucharistic Service:
This service has a long history at St. James and it uses the traditional prayer of the Anglican Church known as the Book of Common Prayer (BCP). The BCP has been described as Scripture in the form of prayer. Though the language will sound archaic to some, to many the beauty and richness of this traditional prayer book has nourished their spiritual life for years. For those looking for more historic grounding and rootedness in their worship, the BCP provides a welcome guide for common worship. The Eucharist is at the heart of the contemplative BCP service and the traditional hymns of the Church are led from the organ. This service usually runs under one hour it is followed by coffee hour. Come and join us!
10 am Book of Alternative Service Eucharistic Service
This service is based on the contemporary liturgy of the Anglican Church of Canada and the Church of England. Musically we blend contemporary, band led worship, with a few hymn selections. As with the 8 am, this service is centered around the celebration of the Eucharist during which members of the prayer team are available to pray with people according to their needs. There is nursery, Sunday School and youth programming for all ages, and of course, coffee hour after the service! This service usually runs about an hour and twenty minutes. We would be glad for you to join us.
