James Lawton

I have the immense pleasure of being the youth pastor here at St. James. I grew up in an Anglican Church in Fort McMurray, Alberta, where my father was the pastor. I have been formed by my experiences within the Anglican Church, including a vibrant youth program where I solidified my faith in Jesus and discovered a passion for music and teaching. I attended the University of Victoria, where I received my BSc in biology, which I’m sure is relevant in a way I will figure out soon. I came to Calgary to work in the environmental field, but God turned that around and since June 2015 I have been striving to teach and equip the youth of St James.  

When not writing bios I enjoy listening to and playing music, watching too much Netflix with my beautiful wife, and playing just about any board game that has ever been invented. I love hanging out with and building up the youth of this parish and look forward to what God has planned for us in the future.
